Here, There, and Everywhere < " ( Mrs. Ilamae Blood, Personnel Office, journeyed to Kansas in July to witness the investiture of her daughter, Kathy , in the Community of the Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood. Kathy is now Sister Paula Jean and will remain at the Motherhouse in Wichita for another two and one-half years, completing her religious studies and training in the field of nursing. co co A late summer visitor was Sister Mary De Chantal, from St. Joseph's Hospital, Milwaukee. Sister is National Secretary of the National Association of Institutional Laundry Managers and was very interested in looking over our present laundry facilities and learning of our plans for the future. CO CO Mr James (Bud) Turner Laundry Manager, became a member of the Colorado Chapter of that organiza- tion during 1962. Sparked by Mr. Lee Boley, Plant Manager, an initial meeting was held last December of twelve supervisory engineers from Denver area hospitals. As a result of this gathering, the Colorado Hospital Engineers Association was formed and now includes among its members representatives of most Denver hospitals. In fact, it is considered likely that Colorado Springs and other cities throughout the state may soon become members. The purpose of the organization is not only to keep its members informed on the latest developments in the field, but also to provide an educational program directed toward maintenance personnel. In its one short year of existence, the Association has already established two training courses, one pertaining to the field of Stationary Engineering and the other to Maintenance. The courses have an enrollment of 48, including our own Joe Candelaria and Harry Gorham. Maintenance has been busy the past six months or so installing automatic controls on the boilers. During December, Mr. Joseph Strawbridge flew to Rochester, New York, for one week of concentrated' instruction on the operation and maintenarice of the X-Omat machine which is an X-Ray film developer. CO CO Purchasing Department is in receipt of three new machines which greatly facilitate the large volume of printing accomplished by that organization (and including this Employee Bullet in)- The equipment includes a folding machine which folds approximately 500 copies per minute, a binding machine, which permits the hospi tai to do the binding here, rather than having it done professionally; and an electric stapler. CO CO Did you see the interesting exhibit of art work by Harley Reckman (Business Office) set up in the main lobby recently? The display was photographed and written up in the Denver Post of December 12 - thus 'scooping' our poor little monthly Bulletin. Such is life! CO CO HIH!!liS-:* ^ *■■§;!
