SPECIAL TUBERCULOSIS STUDY SCHEDULED
The US Public Health Service and Denver TB Society
will cooperate in a special Tuberculosis study to be offered
to all employees of St. Joseph's on June 4, 5, and 6.
DAY and NIGHT shift employees will receive both the
Tine test (administered by the Denver TB Society) and the
Mantoux test (administered by USPHS). The EVENING shift-
(2:30 - 1U30 PM), because of their duty hours, will receive
only the Tine test. Each department will be given a scheduled time to report to the TV Room of the Nurses' Home.
In addition to these skin tests, chest X-Rays will be
offered by a Mobile Unit to be onrked outside the Emergency Entrance.
RED
TOP
NEWS
The latest innovation to be added to the Red Top Service
at St. Joseph's is a pamphlet describing the service performed and containing a questionnaire to be filled out by patients.
When a Red Topper performs a checkout, he places a
pamphlet on the bedside stand and picks up the questionnaire
filled out by the previous patient. All questionnaires are returned to the Red Top office for tabulation, and any suggestions made are given careful consideration.
Results of the questionnaires have been both interesting
and gratifying. The Red Top Management only regrets that
not all patients take the time to fill out the form and would
appreciate nursing personnel calling the attention of new
patients to the pamphlets.
Elsewhere in the Red Top organization, news is centered on the newest hospital to avail itself of Red Top service.
St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, California. This makes
the fourth 'St, Joseph's' in the Red Top family - the others
are our own hospital, and those in Albuquerque and Houston.
All employees are most urgently invited to participate in
this study, both for their own good health and to cooperate
with these health agencies in conducting the study.
