PORK FRIED NOODLES Cook and drain 8 oz. noodles (4 C. uncooked) 1 egg, slightly beaten Heat 1 tbsp. oil in skillet. Add egg and tilt skillet to set egg. Remove egg and cut into strips 1Vi lb. lean pork cut Brown in 2 tbsp. oil into 2"xV2" strips 1 C. thinly sliced celery ) � n . ___. ��:�� ) Add and cook 2 minutes 1 C. chopped onion ' 1% C. chicken broth 1 tbsp. cornstarch Vi tsp. salt % tsp. pepper Vt tsp. ginger 1 tbsp. soy sauce Add Stir in mixture of Boil one minute to thicken, stirring occasionally. Re- move from heat. Heat 3 tbsp. of oil in skillet; add cooked noodles and fry over medium heat until lightly browned. Add to pork mixture. Stir in egg. Serves 4. Mrs. Zeezo and friend, Zoggles, helped too. Zeezo, who often performs for children in hospitals, says Saint Joseph is just about his favorite. New Operating Tables The medical staff and hospital personnel got a sneak preview of the operating tables that will go in our new surgery pavilion. They are innovative in that it is possible to position the patient on a detachable surgical table top without further shifting during pre| operative, surgical and postoperative procedures. A' transfer trolley transports the table tops with patients "on board" to the remote-controlled stationary hy- draulic table base in the surgical suites. ^��i J-. B\ pE6oMelNoTeS You may be saying to yourself, "It's that time of year again and someone else is asking for a payroll deduction." Or, "Why should I support the United Way." The fact is that nearly every family in the com- munity, regardless of economic situation, has used the United Way services at one time or another. The services provided by the some 70 United Way agencies provide the best non-governmental hope we have in solving our problems and preventing others. Please return your pledge card as soon as possible^^ so we may meet our deadlines for this campaigr,-^^ Your card should be returned to your United Way solicitor, whether you make a pledge or not.
