CENTRAL SERVICE - A wedding gift was pre- sented to Joe Hart from the Central Service crew. Ernestine Smith spent a few days in Lubbock, Texas. Rose Pacheco just returned from North Hollywood, California. HOUSEKEEPING - Mrs. Josephine Gilbert, director, attended the Southwest District N.E.H.A. meeting in Albuquerque. Clara King spent several days in Bryan, Texas, with her mother, who celebrated her 82nd birthday. Ray Resendez, custodian, 5-tower, spent his vacation at El Paso, Texas. Jennie Passarelli, h.k. aide, 2-south, has been a patient here. Walen- tyna Myskiw, O/B h.k. aide, returned to work follow- ing surgery. Marie LeGuen, h.k. aide, retired after being employed at the Hospital for some time. Martin Roybal has been on a week's vacation. George Dennis transferred to the inhalation therapy depart- ment. New personnel in the Department are: Denise Tuttle, Lula Harris, Mary Candeleria, Lucy Mc- Clinton, Larry Dews, Berlin Wicks, Joe Lucero, Nick Luna, Gary Soto, Willie Valdez. INHALATION THERAPY - We welcome these new people: Sheila Smith, Michael Phillips, Jo Ann Campbell, Gerald Bowers, and George Dennis. Mrs. Emma Swinney returned from a week's vacation entertaining relatives at home. a class of students at Metro State College on the new concept of electrical safety as it applies to hospitals. The cooling season is almost upon us with its accom- panying pollen, insects, etc. Please keep windows closed and allow doors to stay open only as long as A necessary; this will greatly improve the air condition- ^^ ing for everyone and reduce the cost of its operation. PATIENT & FAMILY COUNSELING - We welcome Penny Millican who is working in our department in connection with the student field placement program at C.S.U. SWITCHBOARD - We want to welcome our new girls: Kathy Klipp, Rita McCarthy, and Pat Bartka. Mrs. Smid, our chief, is off on vacation. Barbara Can- has gone to live in Hobbs, New Mexico. Beverly Emery and family spent ten days in Illinois. It's nice to have Shirley Cook back after her looong bout with measles. SERVICE COORDINATION - Madge Hopkins's daughter, Susan, visited her from Aspen. STATIONS - 4-South-CORRECTION: Dr. Berg states she is not going on a maternity leave, but would like to. 5-South-Mike Dewis' wife is expect- ing her baby in six weeks�we'll keep you posted. 7-North�welcomes back Fran Hunt, a former nurse assistant. Ruth Holden returned to work after a pleasant vacation at home. 8-North�Marguerite Mar- tella says we'll see her back on duty on the 19th after her recent hospitalization�hooray! 8-South� Rosemary Ragulsky, a float N.A. for many years, has joined the staff on the 3-11 shift. 9-North�Donna Clark, R.N., 3-11, spent two weeks in Cheyenne Wells. Martha Sampson, L.P.N., has transferred to the G.I. Lab�we will miss Martha and her devilish sense of humor. ICU Nursery�Maureen Gordon, 3-11, and Patty Maloney, float R.N., 3-11, left April 21 for 11 days in sunny Hawaii. � LAUNDRY - A big welcome to Mr. Sidney Franks, our new director. MAIL ROOM - Mildred Waldron's son, Sylvester Barnes, and her grandchildren were here visiting from Los Angeles during the Easter holidays. MAINTENANCE - Dan Bass and Bill Brownson attended a two-day electrical inspectors' conference in Boulder. Mr. DeSylva took a vacation trip to Arizona and California. Jim Huff required 12 stitches to close a hole in his head when he was hit with a pipe flange. Jerry Moraritz's mother is convalescing after a serious operation. Mr. Strawbridge addressed ENGAGEMENTS AND WEDDINGS . . . Our best wishes to the following employees: Paula Linstrom, R.N., Nursery, 11-7, on her engagement to John LaPorte of Rapid City, S. Dakota; Frances Stewart, 7-North, on her engagement to Richard Grindeland � they plan a June wedding; Florida Woods, Food Service, whose son, Lawrence, was married April 8; Ruth Winson, Service Coordinator, whose daughter, Melanie, was married to Joe Cisneros, Dietary, April 8 at Notre Dame Church-the recep- tion was at the Lowry Officers' Club; Ratana Nootsuwan, O.R.T., Surgery, who married Capt. Chaichana Chunbomrung, Royal Thai Air Force, April 21�he is studying at the Air Intelligence School at Lowry Air Force Base.
