With gas prices soaring ever higher, one of the best ways to cut down on your driving costs is von pooling to work. It only costs about $1.50 a day, compared to driving your own car at an estimated 30centspermile. If adds little or no time to commuting, as you are picked up and delivered near your home. By being part of a van pool, you are also doing your part to conserve energy and reduce pollution. Saint Joseph Hospital currently operates a van pool from Brighton to Denver and there are now spaces available for passengers on this route, according to Jim Burridge, who drives the van Monday through Friday. The route includes areas such as Commerce City, Adams City, Dupont and Henderson. Those interested in joining the van pool should be on the 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shift and should contact either Jim Burridge or Pot Johnson in Plant Engineering as soon as possible at 837-7070 to reserve a spot. Your monthly van pool payments may be handled any way you wish �either by payroll deduction so you don't have to worry about having the cash handy, or on a passenger-ro-driver basis at the beginning of each month. The schedule and route is very flexible � don't rule van pooling out until you have called Burridge and discussed if. There is also a possiblity of adding another route if there is adequate interest in any area of the city or suburbs. A driver would also be needed. Representative Joe Moakley of Boston and other proponents of safer cigarettes, including the American Bum Association and the National Pre Protection Association, say such a measure would save hundreds of lives annually, because the self: extinguishing cigarettes would not be Secure Parking There is now reserved parking available for 3 to 11:30 p.m. employees in the lot directly across from the Emergency Department on the southwest corner of 18rh Street and Humboldt. Parking stickers for this lot may be purchased from Jack Mansfield's office in the Mdtown Medical Building, first floor, 2005 Franklin St., between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
