ICU's Bernadette Hunt and Karin Bentley vacationed on the West Coast; DeLores Kennedy in Ohio and Indiana; and Mary Peterson in Loop City, Nebraska, the best kept secret "hot spot" of the Midwest! ? Colleen Mullen of 7 South survived and returned to tell the tale of China. Francee Westmacott traveled to Santa Fe and the Western Slope. Amanda Henderson went to Minnesota and North Dakota to see family. Christine Kobriger went to South Dakota, Deana Council to Illinois, Rebecca Winfield to Salida. Penny Gauvain took a trip home to England. Gwen Poly ran a marathon in Lincoln, Nebraska, and is spending part of the summer in Alaska. Bon Voyage. ? Margaret Lewandowski of Medical Staff Services spent her vacation travel- ing with her family through Colorado and Dinosaur National Monuments. Lea Gardner spent time with her family in Atlanta. ? Here's hoping Jean Kerr of the CV Lab has a fun and exciting trip to Minnesota at the end of July. Dan Powell celebrated Independence Day in Ameri- ca's oldest National Park. Yellowstone. ? ? ? When Vivian Dolan retired, she left quietly, "the same way I started." She recalled the day in 1953 when she came to Denver by train. "I arrived at Union Station in a blind- ing rainstorm and grabbed a cab to Saint Joe's. I was hired to start on first south the next day." Vivian took some time off in the 1950s to be with her family, but steadily for the past 29 years her caring and warmth have touched the lives of countless SJH patients, their families, and her coworkers. Vivian Dolan is a very special person who will be missed more than she may ever realize. We wish her well in her new home and know she'll be spending a lot more time with her family, including three grandchildren. We just hope she'll come out of the hot tub long enough to keep in touch.
