Pastoral Care Corner DY SISTER MARY CARLO COLIDRARO, S.C.L. Pastoral Associate Pastoral Care Deportment In our contemporary society it often seems that not money but time enslaves us. How often hove you said to yourself, "I wish I could do all the things that I need to do, but I just don't hove the time?" And if we really reflect on our busy days, we realize we do not take time to "smell the roses." We no longer have timetime has us! Life becomes nothing more than a ran- dom series of incidents and acci- dents over which we have no con- trol. A kind of boredom sets in. But there is another way in which we can use timeas the opportu- nity. It is the right time, the real moment, the chance of our life. When our time is lived in this man- ner, it opens up endless possibilities and offers us a constant opportunity for a change of heart. This is really good news because now all events of life, even the dark events, carry within themselves the possibility of becoming the moment of change. They have the same potential to transform us into vibrant and full human beings as they have of de- stroying us. Boredom no longer ex- ists because every moment is filled with infinite meaning. You will be living your life rather than simply passing through it. So use the NOW momentfor now is the only time to be to do to grow to love. Why keep a kiss, a gesture, a word that gives a moment's plea- sure or reassurance to someone else? Money you can't take with you.
